SINGLES: FINDING LOVE IN A BAD ECONOMY

Increased Traffic in the Dating Industry Credited to Economic Downturn; "When Singles Get Financially Stressed, They Seek Out Love"(1)

DENVER, CO (MMD Newswire) January 22, 2010 -- The Denver Singles Expo (www.DenverSinglesExpo.com), sponsored in part by Great Expectations Dating Service, will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Marriott Denver Tech Center.

The Denver Singles Expo has rapidly become the largest singles event in Denver's history, providing Denver's singles the opportunity to learn more about dating and relationships and have a great time meeting one another in a fun, relaxed social atmosphere.

With singles anxious to find a partner for sharing life's ups and downs, especially in today's economy, the Singles Expo provides singles an opportunity to meet one another while learning, among other things, "How to Become Financially Attractive in Tough Times."

This year's keynote speaker Bob Doyle from the movie "The Secret" will teach singles how to attract the perfect mate. In addition to other seminars, the Singles Expo is hosting a celebrity bachelor/bachelorette auction, lingerie fashion show, live music from Denver's own Chase N The Dream, full dinner, cocktails, dancing and loads of entertainment.

Cost to attend the all day and all night Singles Expo event is an affordable $89. Janis Spindel is a Manhattan matchmaker whose basic retention fee is $25,000 upfront. Depending on the client, these rates can skyrocket to $250,000. But even in the midst of an economic recession, Spindel says she is busy ... "busier than [she] can possibly deal with." It's no wonder singles are willing to spend $89 on an all day and night event dedicated to entirely to them.

With many online dating services currently seeing their highest profits in many years, it's no wonder Denver's singles are opening their wallets to meet a mate. Brooke Ott of the 34-year-old dating service, Great Expectations, explains, "Because our business has always demonstrated strength during tough financial times, we knew it would be a perfect time to participate in a large-scale singles event like the Denver Singles Expo. And it's just before Valentines Day!"

All of the proceeds from the Singles Expo will be donated to The Wild Animal Sanctuary of Colorado. Jessica Biel, actress, model, and spokesperson for The Wild Animal Sanctuary, describes, "The sanctuary's mission is to provide a safe and nurturing home to tigers, bears, lions and other exotic animals that have been abused, abandoned or kept illegally as ‘pets.' The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a national treasure, and a magical place to visit! Colorado is lucky to have such a refuge to call its own."

One Singles Expo ticket holder from Greenwood Village said, "I'm really excited about the upcoming singles event ... useful info for singles, great entertainment, and possibly finding someone special all for $89? It's perfect! The fact that it also benefits a great charity makes it that much more appealing."
